Get ready to sing, dance, and celebrate Birmingham with Jim and Megan, The Music Seekers! Join them at Stirchley Baths on the 6th of April along with an orchestra of 50 amazing musicians from the Moseley Misfits and B30 Ensemble for a special concert made just for YOU!
We'll take you on a musical adventure, exploring some of Birmingham's coolest places through music, with lots of singing, dancing, games, and other fun surprises! It's a fun, friendly, and relaxed show for everyone with learning disabilities and autism, their families, and carers.
During the performance we’ll “visit” some of the accessible attractions and locations in Birmingham such as:
Tyseley Loco Works
We’ll seek out music around steam trains which are produced and maintained in the city. Touching on music inspired by a cheeky little blue engine.
Edgbaston Reservoir
This prominent location in the city is a popular place to walk, look at nature and go on boat rides. We’ll explore music around the different boats on the water.
The Aquarium
A popular attraction to visit, especially on a quiet day, the perfect inspiration for music around fish and sea life.
Bournville
Hosting the famous Cadbury factory, we’ll listen to one of the most famous chocolate themed pieces of all time!
Broad Street
Famous in the city for being the place to go to dance, we’ll learn some famous dances and sing some famous disco hits.
To help you prepare for the concert, we want to let you know that it will include some louder musical moments, opportunities for audience participation. A quiet area is available if you need it.
We understand that everyone will have different ways of enjoying the concert so we have a few pointers to help you enjoy the show:
Please bring anything that will make your experience enjoyable
Don’t feel that you need to be sat still throughout the concert as though you are in a theatre. We understand that you might want to move around and you are absolutely welcome to do so, just be aware of others around you who might have sensory needs.
You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic) as we wont be providing refreshments during the performance.
Each accessible ticket holder will require at least one carer/parent to be present throughout the show.
